Balsamic Roasted Onions Recipe

(Low Fat Salad Recipe)

Ingredients:  Serves 4,  Oven: Preheat to 200C

675 g (1 lb) small baby onions, peeled

2 tablespoons castor sugar

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

a few sprigs fresh thyme

 

Method:

Place all the ingredients in a non-stick roasting tray and toss well.  Bake in the top of the oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.  Remove from the oven and place in a serving dish.  Serve hot or cold.

 

Note:  If you find pickled onions a little sharp, try these sweet crunchy onions as an alternative.  They can be served hot or cold.
